Professional Statement

Pursuing degrees in Marketing and Theater the past three years has been a complete pleasure and a combination of two of my passions that both share one common goal: to grab people's attention and make them feel something!
My experiences throughout college, both social and professional, have given me so much insight into my future in the business world. I have gained so much valuable experience and advice from studying theater and marketing, and working for the department of annual giving at SCU. My business classes have helped me apply the knowledge I gain to my role as a supervisor. Learning different management styles, what inspires people the most, and how to create a positive and efficient work environment have all lended to my job of supervising, training, and motivating student callers.
Theater has taught me the importance of collaboration; how much farther an idea can reach and how much it can improve if you work with those around you. My experience on stage has also given me excellent improvisational skills, necessary for the business world where unpredictability can be high and changes may be made moments before an important meeting or presentation.
Pursuing a degree in marketing has been a hard but rewarding experience, and I can see myself dedicated to this field in the future. Marketing requires an individual who is sociable, quick thinking, and competitive, which are all attributes that I recognize in myself.
Marketing appeals to me because it is constantly changing and is a social career, as an extrovert, I know I will thrive most in an environment where I have the opportunity to make connections with others everyday.

Artistic Statement

I was born in the desert of Tucson, Arizona, a warmer corner of the world that specializes in celebrating good food, local artwork and has a passion for the beauty of nature within this mountain locked little big city. I often attribute my vision as an artist, one of light-heartedness and comic relief, to my eclectic and exciting upbringing in such a unique place. I come from a family of goofballs who have instilled a need within me to do just about anything to make people laugh. I have been studying voice for 8+ years in hopes to one day have a skillset that is similar to my musical theater idols, Barbra Streisand and Julie Andrews. Their iconic performances serve as a sense of inspiration to me, so much so that I often strive to emulate their sophistication and range as qualities in my acting. I’m keen towards performing impersonations and perfecting different dialects - and have a tendency to perform always in any way I can, whether it’s giving a dramatic retelling of my day to my friends over dinner, or on stage with an ensemble in front of a crowd. In the future, I hope to be an artist that not only makes those around me laugh, but one that is willing to stray away from my comfort zone. Just as it’s important to master one specific discipline, it’s also important to simultaneously learn others to diversify not only my skill set, but my experiences as an artist and collaborator.
